ECR Prize 2024 Winners

Professor Cheryl Miller announced the winners of the annual Early Career Researcher Prize Scheme for 2024 during the SMPH Research event on the 3rd June 2024.  

 

Sarah Hargreaves - Allied Health Professionals, Nursing and Midwifery

Awarded for outstanding contribution to leadership and research.

The Faculty of Health appreciates the outstanding contributions that research staff make to the faculty. In recognition of this, the Faculty of Health Early Career Researcher Committee are pleased to launch the annual Early Career Researchers Prize Scheme for 2024. 

This Faculty award will be given to recognise outstanding contributions of research staff up to and including University grade 7 across the full-spectrum of activity in the Faculty of Health. Please note, for this award you are not eligible if you are a PhD student or have an full/honorary NHS contract, please see the online Google application form for the details. 

If you are unclear about eligibility or any other aspects of the application process, please contact, Dr Scott Allen, (Chair, ECR Prize Committee 2024), via: s.p.allen@sheffield.ac.uk.

The remit of this prize is to reward outstanding contribution as an early career researcher in any of the four categories: Engagement, Leadership, Research and Teaching. 

Up to four £500 prizes will be awarded for outstanding contribution in any of the four categories below, which must be spent by July 2025. Applicants will not be required to excel in all four categories and should not be constrained by the examples listed.

Nominations

Candidates can be nominated by any member of staff or any postgraduate research student or can self-nominate using the application form. In both cases, the application needs to be accompanied by an evidence based formal letter of support, from a second colleague.

Deadline for submission is 5pm, Friday 29th April 2024.
